We import these shells from the tropical paradise island of Java, Indonesia. The artisans carving these exquisite shells live on the south coast of Java in a small village called Teluk Penyu (Turtle Bay), part of the Indian Ocean. Divers search shallow waters just off the coast looking for just the right shells to make the earrings. Only empty shells are harvested. Capiz shells are naturally translucent pearl color and come from an ocean shellfish similar to a clam. These Dangle earrings are made from hand-dyed HOT Pink Capiz shells, accented with 3mm dia. Sterling Silver (0.925 fine) Bali Flower beads and 3mm dia. Sterling Silver smooth round beads and attached to Sterling Silver Bali style ear wires.
